Puzzle Time

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 21, 2026

1. Introduction

Puzzle Time (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Puzzle Time website or mobile apps (the “Service”).

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication identifiers. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we may receive your name, email address, and profile image where that provider makes them available.
  • Game and social data: When you use an account, we store game results, attempts, completion times, streaks, shields, statistics, difficulty choices, preferences, friend codes and relationships, and leaderboard entries.
  • Feedback and support: We collect the category and message you submit through feedback or support channels, together with the account needed to respond and prevent abuse.
  • Purchase information: When you subscribe to Pro, Apple, Google, or Polar handles payment credentials. Puzzle Time receives purchase, transaction, subscription, and entitlement status needed to provide and restore Pro access. We do not store your complete card number.

2.2 Automatically Collected and Local Information

  • Service and device information: Our servers and service providers may process IP address, device and operating-system details, browser type, request timestamps, diagnostics, and feature usage to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
  • On-device information: The mobile apps store game sessions, timers, settings, and other local progress in app storage. Authentication material may be stored in the device’s secure storage. The website uses cookies and browser storage for sessions, preferences, and guest progress.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service
  • Register and authenticate accounts
  • Save and sync game progress across supported devices
  • Calculate streaks, statistics, friends, and leaderboards
  • Process, manage, and restore Pro access
  • Send service messages such as magic links and account-deletion confirmations
  • Respond to feedback, inquiries, and support requests
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and technical failures
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only as described below and only as needed for the relevant purpose.

  • Authentication and email providers: Google and Apple support social sign-in, and Resend delivers service emails such as magic links, account welcome messages, and account-deletion confirmations.
  • Payments and entitlements: Apple and Google process mobile store purchases, RevenueCat validates and manages mobile subscription entitlements, and Polar processes web purchases and subscriptions.
  • Infrastructure providers: Hosting, database, security, and operational providers process information needed to run the Service on our behalf.
  • Feedback relay: Feedback may be relayed to our private Discord workspace so it can be reviewed and answered.
  • Other players: People you accept as friends may see profile details such as your name or image, rank, and shared game results. Leaderboards display the information needed to rank participating players.
  • Sharing you initiate: If you use your device’s Share feature, the destination you choose receives the result summary you decided to send.
  • Legal and safety reasons: We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect Puzzle Time, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: Information may transfer as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

5. Data Storage, Security, and Retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit. No transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep account information while your account is active and retain other records only as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce agreements. Provider records may follow the provider’s own retention requirements.

6. Guest Users and Local Data

You can play without an account. Guest game sessions, settings, and progress are primarily kept on your device or in your browser. Our servers and service providers may still receive basic request, device, security, and diagnostic information when a guest accesses online features or content.

Deleting the app, clearing its data, or clearing browser storage generally removes local guest data. Local data may not be recoverable or transferable unless a feature explicitly syncs it to an account.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, or receive a portable copy of your personal information. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing and complain to your local privacy regulator.

Signed-in users can request permanent account deletion from the Account screen. You can also contact support to exercise a privacy right. We may need to verify your identity and may retain limited records where permitted or required by law. Deleting an account does not automatically erase information held independently by an app store, payment provider, or other third party.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

9. International Users

Puzzle Time is operated from Australia. We and our service providers may process information in Australia, the United States, and other countries whose data-protection rules may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

10. California Privacy Rights

California residents may have additional rights, including rights to know, correct, or delete personal information and to receive information about its disclosure. Puzzle Time does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

11. European Privacy Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, applicable law may give you rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and receive portable data. Our legal bases may include performing our contract with you, complying with law, your consent, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service. You may complain to your local supervisory authority.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service or legal requirements change. We will post the current version and update the date at the top. Where required, we will provide additional notice before a material change takes effect.
